What level of excercise experience and knowledge do I need to start training?

You don’t need any. I can teach you everything you need to know even if you have no experience in the gym at all. Back to Top.

After I start working with you when will I begin to see results?

Some strength results can happen in as soon as 2 weeks after starting. On average, most results become apparent after 3-4 weeks, but can be sooner or later than that depending on your diet. Back to Top.

Do I have to join your gym and what are the gym fees?

The gym I train out of has no membership fees. Back to Top.

Where is your gym located?

The gym is called Symmetry, and is located in River North just a short walk from the Chicago/Franklin brown line stop at 401 W. Ontario. Click here for a map. Back to Top.

I currently belong to a gym. Can you come to my gym to train me?

I cannot train at another gym. I do however often train some clients at their home, or in the workout facility in their building. Back to Top.

What kind of certification and education do you have?

I have a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Back to Top.

Once I begin, am I obligated to continue?

You can continue as long as you like. Some clients have been training with me for years, others train with me for only a short period of time to learn new exercises and change up their fitness program. Back to Top.

How and when must I make payment?

My clients are required to pay for their training sessions up front whether they are paying for a single session or for a package of sessions. I accept cash, check, or credit card through Paypal. Back to Top.

What if I cancel a session?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  As long as you cancel your session outside of 24 hours, you will not be charged for the session. Back to Top.

What happens if I am late for a session?

I usually train clients back to back so if for example you show up 15 minutes late, I would only be able to train you for 45 minutes so I can begin my next session on time. Back to Top.

How many days a week do I need to workout?

Exercise frequency varies from person to person depending on individual goals. Whether my clients train with me for 1 session a week or up to 4 sessions a week, I recommend a total of at least 3 days of exercise a week. Back to Top.

I can workout on my own, but I need to learn what to do and how to exercise correctly. Will you work with me on this basis?

Yes, that is an extremely important part of working out. I make sure all my clients learn correct form and always perform exercises the right way. Back to Top.

I have done everything, but I still can’t loose weight. Is there anything you can do for me?

Yes, I can help break through any plateaus. Some plateaus are workout related, or diet related. I can help in either case. Back to Top.

I’ve have been working out on my own for a long time, but have stopped making any progress in muscle gain. Can you help me?

Muscle gain is always tough to get when working out on your own. It is extremely  helpful to have someone there to spot you and help you squeeze out those last few crucial reps that are not safe to try when you don’t have a spotter. Back to Top.

I do hundreds of sit-ups but still have no definition in my abs. How do I get a six-pack?

The biggest myth in the fitness world is the theory of “spot burning fat.” It is impossible to burn fat in a specific area. Yes, doing abs will help develop the abdominal muscles just like working any other muscle but does nothing to burn the fat that may be on top of the abs. I can show you the most effective abdominal exercises to do, and help with your diet to make that six-pack come out. Back to Top.
